On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022 and in the frame of Isola Design District, Pijama presents the project Merlino, a hat for your cat, in collaboration with Bibi design at Via Pastrengo 11 with a special event on 7th of June at 18:00.

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022 and in the frame of Isola Design District, Pijama presents the project Merlino, a hat for your cat, in collaboration with Bibi design.

Merlino is the new home for the cat. A conical, comfortable, soft and foldable kennel that can be completely opened with zip from top to bottom and around the circular base, then rolled up to be transported or stored away. It has an extra layer of removable fabric to be used externally from the kennel and can be easily washed. Merlino is made with the same material used for all Pijama products, such as computer cases or bags: a layer of neoprene doubled with a soft black jersey on the inside, and a coloured fabric on the outside, to be chosen from a selection of geometric and floral patterns from the Pijama collection, including Unicorn, Dalia and Tic tac, to bring a touch of colour to the living room of the house. Merlino is designed & made in Italy.

The collection will be on sale exclusively in the Pijama store in Milan and on the website www.pijama.it for Design Week, and subsequently also in selected stores in Italy and abroad.

Pijama

Pijama was born in 2006 from the idea of Monica Battistella, designer and Sergio Gobbi, architect, as a brand initially specializing in the creation of soft cases for Macbooks, iPods, iPhones and later accessories and backpacks. The combination of the different design approaches of the two creators, functional and aesthetic, immediately turns out to be the winning choice; Pijama meets the taste of a heterogeneous public looking for a product capable of expressing its personality in an anonymous world like that of technology. A careful choice of fabrics and simple lines with attention to the smallest details characterize the collections that are enriched with new products every season. Pijama is a simple but ambitious project distributed all over the world, from Europe to Japan, strictly 100% designed and made in Milan.

Bibi design

Bibi design is a creative studio founded in Turin in 2014 from an idea of the brothers Alessandro Marzio and Eugenio Barra. The studio deals with product design, furniture. Bibi design believes in responsible, aesthetic and functional design. The studio won the A’design Award in 2015 with the Sella / Sellino projects.

“We believe in the values of Good Design that we put into practice in daily planning. For us, design is an altruistic, poetic and responsible gesture. He must be able to raise awareness and dialogue with the surrounding context and propose new solutions to problems of everyday life.
Our work stems from a creative process that starts from a clear and concrete idea, sometimes cheeky and irreverent, to create projects tailored to the real needs of customers. "
