Hosted in the scenographic 4.000m2 covered square of the Regione Lombardia, Circolare includes an installation and several exhibitions focused on materials and design projects with a minimum environmental impact in terms of production. The layout of the space, designed by Amsterdam based Studio MAST in collaboration, among the others, with Fiction Factory, Interface, Agrobiomaterials, Pyrasied Xtreme Acrylic, and The Good Plastic Company, is completely zero waste, giving a new life to discarded furniture materials in the displays, bases, dividers, and more that are going to be reused post exhibition.
The initiative will showcase natural raw materials, biomaterials, and functional design pieces born from industry waste. The designers participating in the exhibition will embrace their responsibility by presenting changes to outdated production and consuming processes. The projects exhibited follow the key elements for a circular design approach: the use of regenerative resources, the reduction of carbon emissions and the repurposing of waste materials. Furthermore, designers will present designs that go beyond the experimental, project, and simply functional phases, showing how circular design can also be elegant and up-scale.
The exhibition is made possible by the contribution of Regione Lombardia and it’s supported by the Netherlands consulate-general in Milan.
