Void02 is a functional sculpture designed from the analysis of the void' shape, nestled in the entrance of Imbertighe' Tomba dei Giganti (II BC). The 45' joints between the different surfaces create a pure parallelepiped monolith. The geometry of the void, juxtaposed, determines functionality and form, with its overturning two functional scenarios are set up; bench, bench + rack. . A complimentary fusion was established between artisan methodology and CNC manufacturing in the process development. The material chosen for this limited edition is MDF-FSC®, water -lacquered, it’s bespoke for contemporary interiors.
Anthropological Design Research 00' is the first part of multi-layered research, starting from the analysis of specific megalithic and ancestral structures present in Europe (in this case Sardinia). The form are investigate through a design process focused on the analysis of void space as generative element. With the development of the first three objects: Void01 lamp, Void02 bench, Void03 multipurpose, a bridge experiments traditional craftsmanship with advanced manufacturing processes. The project becomes a testing ground for establishing new connections, from conceptual to manufacturing. The design process, therefore, becomes the means to investigate, represent, reinterpret and connect these eternal forms in functional and sustainable objects.
